Understanding ACUs

Adaptive Compute Units (ACUs) measure the total resource consumption of your app. ACUs help you understand and manage the operational costs of running your app and using AI features.

Running Your App

These costs reflect the core services required to keep your app live and responsive. They vary based on your app's usage and include:

  • Processing — When your app processes tasks, like loading pages or handling user input (1 ACU per minute of processing).
  • Storing and moving data — Uploads, downloads, or storing media (1 ACU per 100 MB).
  • Extras — E.g. outbound emails sent by your app (1 ACU per 10 emails).

AI Feature Usage

AI-driven features consume ACUs based on the type, frequency, and complexity of requests made by your app. For example:

  • A short AI-generated message or response is typically about 1 ACU.
  • A complex task like generating an image or audio clip is typically about 10 ACUs.

Revenue Share

Adaptive makes it easy to build and grow your own software products with revenue sharing that's simple and fair. You keep the vast majority of what you earn, while we only succeed when you do.

One-time payments

5% + $0.30per transaction

This includes Stripe's processing fee (2.9% + $0.30), with adaptive retaining just 2.1% to support and improve the platform.

Subscriptions

5%of recurring revenue

This includes all Stripe Billing fees.
