Usage is how Adaptive measures what your AI does. Every plan comes with a usage allowance — here is how it is structured, how it refreshes, and how to keep an eye on it.
A small pool of usage that tops up every day. Available on every plan, including Free. Resets at midnight in your timezone.
The main pool that comes with a paid plan. Refreshes on a recurring cadence — see Settings → Usage for your exact next refresh date. Free plans do not have a subscription pool.
Anything that comes from outside the regular refresh cycle — pay-as-you-go overage, credit packs, promotional grants, and referral bonuses. Available on paid plans. Promotional credits expire after 12 months; purchased credits do not.
When you use Adaptive, your daily bonus is drawn down first, then your subscription usage, then any extra usage. The order is automatic.
Almost everything your AI does — chat messages, image and audio generation, web search, tool calls, and other AI operations. Heavier tasks like generating media use more than a short text reply. On the Free plan, time spent running your computer also counts against usage; paid plans include computer uptime in the plan at no extra cost.
Your daily bonus refreshes at midnight in your timezone. Your subscription usage refreshes on a recurring cadence that depends on your plan. For the exact date your subscription usage refreshes next, open Settings → Usage in the app — it shows the precise countdown alongside your current balance.
Your daily bonus is spent first, then your subscription usage, then any extra usage you have. The order is automatic — you do not need to choose.
Open Settings → Usage in the app. You will see your current balance across each pool, your next refresh date, and a recent activity log showing exactly what consumed usage and when.
AI operations pause until your next refresh. On paid plans, you can opt into pay-as-you-go from Settings → Usage to keep going past your subscription pool — you only pay for what you use beyond the plan, and you can set a monthly spending cap. On the mobile app, you can also purchase a credit pack from the Credits sheet for a one-time top-up.
Usage is counted in credits — a small unit that represents one bit of AI work. The activity log in Settings → Usage shows exactly how many credits each operation used after it runs.
Storage is separate from usage. It does not get consumed by AI operations and it does not refresh on a cadence — your plan includes a fixed amount.
There are two types. Computer storage is the fast, built-in disk that runs your operating system and apps. File storage is separate cloud storage for files and media you keep around. Both scale up with paid plans.
